It’s always difficult deciding what to write about as a content creator during week’s like this one. Do I talk about the election? Share my viewpoint? Continue on with regularly scheduled programming? Disappear until the dust settles?
I am saddened and disheartened — as a woman, a role model and mother to my mixed-race daughter, and a women’s health nutritionist.
But I am also determined.
Because when I think about what my core mission is — it’s to help women thrive, to advocate for themselves & their children, to trust & listen to their bodies, and to provide the tools & resources necessary to optimize their health so they can show up fully in every way with passion and purpose.
This is how we’re moving forward. This is how we’re not going back.
6 ways to support your health as a woman every day:
Eat for Balance
Nourishing your body with the right foods is foundational to hormonal health, mental clarity, and emotional well-being. It starts with balanced blood sugar — so yes, I’m still reminding you to get in 30 grams of protein at each meal. But we also need to eat the rainbow and prioritize a variety of colorful fruits and vegetables for their powerful phytonutrient and antioxidant properties. Food is information, and every bite you take sends a message to your cells. Which then impacts how you feel both moments and years later.
Reclaim Your Attention
In our hyper-connected world, our attention is constantly being pulled in a thousand different directions. This mental fragmentation can lead to stress, anxiety, and hormonal imbalances. Cultivate mindfulness by becoming aware of where your attention goes throughout the day. Practice single-tasking, minimize distractions, and create boundaries around technology use. Engage in activities that promote present moment awareness, such as meditation, breathwork, or spending time in nature. Remember, where your attention goes, your energy flows.
