Hello Friends — December 1st already! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. We’re back from our trip to Scottsdale after deciding to extend our stay for a few days just the three of us and it was the best little reset.

In this week’s EDIT you’ll find:
Six inspiring Substack publications I’m loving right now.
A few nutrition tips to reset after the holiday weekend.
The soup I always keep my the pantry for when we have no food in the house.
A quick thought on gratitude.
I don’t know about you but I’ve had hundreds if not thousands of sales emails in my inbox this week and quite frankly my brain needs a break from the constant push to consume.
So instead or Black Friday (or Cyber Monday) picks, I’m sharing a few of my favorite Substack writers — I love reading their work with each inspiring me in different ways.
It’s far too easy to say we’re fasting all day and hitting a double workout class to “undo the damage” from this weekend — that’s the last thing your body needs.
Instead, here’s how I’m personally resetting after the weekend away — nourishing and replenishing my body rather than restricting or punishing.
Integrating a gentle 12-14 hour fast overnight with an earlier dinner vs. a later breakfast.
Starting my day with a lower carb, higher protein breakfast.
Eating all the brightly colored produce for their antioxidants and fiber.
Removing gluten and dairy for the next 7-10 days.
Hydrating with 100 ounces water daily.
Drinking one cup of green tea and one cup of herbal tea daily.
Getting back to alcohol on the weekends only with a 2-3 drink maximum.
Aiming for 8-10k steps daily.
Integrating dry brushing several times this week.
Getting to bed by 9:30pm nightly.
And while December is probably the least likely month you’d start working with a nutritionist — a little reminder that it takes a few weeks to onboard with me and get all your ducks in a row.
If you’re goal is getting to the root cause of pesky gut, hormone, or metabolic symptoms next year so that you can feel joyful & at ease in your body again— book a free consultation and be ready to roll on January 1st.
We have zero groceries in the house and when I went to set up delivery (because there’s no way I’m going to an actual store) there weren’t any slots available until 4pm.
So I’ll be leaning on our Karine & Jeff pantry stash — these soups are a staple and I love having them on hand for a quick, warming lunch or as a nourishing, no fuss option when coming home from travel. They’re also in glass, made with organic ingredients, and use French sea salt. Plus they taste like real, homemade soup.
This link is for Thrive Market where I find the price to be best, but you can also find them in stores like Whole Foods and Fresh Market.
No big thoughts this week — just gratitude for this little life of mine as I sit writing to you on a 3 hour plane ride that was an hour delayed where we then have to connect through Atlanta for another flight and then car ride home as Leena sits munching on LoveBird O’s watching Peppa the Pig and Ravi is looking up real estate in Scottsdale because it really would be a lovely place to retire one day.
For all of this (and for you) I am grateful.
