This week I delivered churro MASA chips and organic, grass-fed rice krispie treats to all our friends & Leena’s teachers for Valentine’s Day — and it made me realize that I really enjoy being the “foodie nutritionist friend.”
It brings me absolute joy sharing good food that’s also good for you.
The thing is — in order to feel your best consistently, you have to enjoy what you’re eating. It also means you need to eat (and cook!) real food at home the majority of the time.
But I know what comes easily for me is an Achilles heal for many — it’s why my recipe blog was so popular back in the day. And why so many of my OG clients (hi Cinder & Lo!) still text me for recipe ideas.
While I don't have the bandwidth to be a full-time recipe developer, I'm excited to announce a new weekly meal inspiration section for paid subscribers. This used to be a monthly post, but I feel like it was looked at once and then forgotten about.
I'll be sharing 4-5 "EP-approved" recipes that are simple, delicious, and perfect for busy weeknights or make ahead lunches. They won't all be my recipes, but I'll do the digging for you, sharing my finds to keep you and your family nourished & inspired all week long.
In this week’s EDIT you’ll find —
Hydration packs & fiber bites
Walking pad deets (I’m obsessed with mine)
Meal Inspo: salmon tacos, pumpkin chili, and a cult-classic kale salad
I’ve been going to a new infrared sauna studio down the street religiously 2x/week for the past month and absolutely love it. My body feels a noticeable difference from the consistency and I can tell I’m detoxifying better. The problem is I’m also craving salt and know I need to keep my minerals replenished. But I hate flavored mineral powders and want my water tasting like water. So I’ve been leaning on these Quinton Hypertonic Seawater Packets by Quicksilver (a brand I love) — and have been adding them to my water for the past week.
Maybe a bit TMI, but when you have a toddler you talk a lot about poop and will do anything to make sure your toddler is pooping on the regular. It’s also really hard to get adequate fiber in consistently — so I went on the hunt for a fiber product for Leena that wasn’t a gummy. A search on Google led me to Fiome fiber bites with 5g of fiber per serving. After buying them on a whim, I have to say they’re delicious and we all love them.
Add 2k steps daily
I was chatting with two clients this week about adding more steps into their day. But the thought of hitting 10k steps can feel daunting — so I challenged them both to aim for an additional 2k steps (~1 mile) on top of whatever they were already doing. If a goal feels unattainable, break it down into smaller increments and build from there.
Personally, the only way I hit my step goal is with a walking pad. I never thought I’d be that girl, but here we are almost 2 years in and it’s a game changer. I now walk for 30-90 minutes at my standing desk most weekdays — finding myself more energized, focused, and regulated. Add in a weighted vest 2-3x/week and it’s done wonders for toning my legs too.
These week, it’s salmon tacos, a warming chili, immune-boosting pastina soup, and a cult-classic kale salad.
