Happy Sunday friends — how was your week?

School was out this past Thursday for their fall holiday and our mom’s group took the kids to the Palm Beach Zoo, which is always an adventure with 7 toddlers in tow.

Leena had her first Dippin Dots (do you remember those?!) and I honestly cringed the entire time I watched her little spoon go in for another bite — but, I’m trying to give her these moments on occasion. Though it’s truly amazing how often sugar-laden opportunities/festivities come up for children. I wanted to shout — we can make memories with our kids without sugar and processed junk!

So, I told the girl working the stand to only fill the cup halfway and then after Leena had a decent maybe 10-12 bites, I told her that was enough or else her belly would hurt and she could have some of mommy’s ice cream (a frozen chocolate smoothie basically) from home with her birthday sprinkles. I truly don’t mind her having a sweet treat, but ones that don’t have junk ingredients in them.
