Living in south Florida, it’s really easy to forget that most of the country is going through winter right now. And while we’ve hit the low 40s some mornings, it’s nothing compared to the 12 degrees I felt this past week in Indiana — where I was visiting my parents with Leena while Ravi was on a work trip.
I have to say though, there was something really lovely about experiencing true winter. Leena’s first foray into the snow, bundling up, cozy fires, that first sip of hot coffee in a chilly kitchen, blueberry buckwheat waffles, simmered all day chicken soup, a warming pot roast, a bit of boredom, and the naturally slower pace of it all…
